Cacao Lane is one of my favorite restaurants in Ellicott City, but when I first explored main street I figured it was just a typical restaurant. Last summer my friends and I went there for some drinks, and that’s when I found out about the deck on top of Cacao Lane. From the street you can’t see it, and to get there you need to go through the back of the restaurant. I like to go on the deck because it has a great view over Ellicott City. There is also a bar on the deck, but you can’t get any beers on tap there. For that you need to go to the bar downstairs in the main restaurant.
I have been to Cacao Lane a few times now, and every time was a good experience. Cacao Lane has good food that is priced comparable to other restaurants. I don’t go for the food, though. I like going for the atmosphere, especially on a nice summer evening. If you plan to stay on the deck, make sure you check the weather forecast so you aren’t caught in the rain!
